“Keep Your Eye on the Marshmallow” is a follow-up book to two previous releases that discuss the “Marshmallow Principle.”\u00a0 It is written by Joachim de Posada.\u00a0 *Note:\u00a0 I have not yet read the first two books and it is not necessary to have done so to read this one.*<\/em><\/p>\n

I really enjoyed the parable and I believe you can get a lot out of this book.\u00a0 It really puts into perspective delaying gratification and why you should do so.\u00a0 It also shows work-life balance which I often see as a problem in our hustle, on the move, world.<\/p>\n

Arthur, the main character, is easy to like.\u00a0 You probably know an Arthur or you may be him yourself.\u00a0 He is a go getter that goes out and does a great job.\u00a0 However, he is stagnant and doesn’t want to take that next step toward greatness.\u00a0 He fears losing his family and seeks council where you really get into the meat of the material.<\/p>\n

After the parable de Posada gives us Shawn Achor’s five actions to take everyday.\u00a0 I think this is something great that goes right along with the book and it stood out to me because I do most of these things but it shows me that if I do the couple that I have not started that I can make a huge difference in myself.<\/p>\n

The book is a quick and easy read.\u00a0 I would recommend this book to anyone who feels they have problems with self-discipline or want to get ahead but just aren’t sure what is stopping them.<\/p>\n
